Voice Notebook

A meeting, a lecture, a video, or a sudden idea: double-tap a key and Owlfy starts listening and writing it down. Each recording is saved with its transcript, building up a private library you can always come back to.

  1. Double-tap the Voice Writing key (Right Command on macOS, Right Ctrl on Windows and Linux).
  2. Choose what to record:

  1. Speak or play the audio. Text appears as it’s recognized.
  2. When you’re done, choose Save & Exit, or Continue or Discard.

The dictation window has expanded, compact, and capsule modes, so you can shrink it out of the way while you work.

When recording system audio, make sure your computer is actually playing sound. On macOS this needs the screen recording permission.

When saving, pick a tag (Recording, Meeting, Video, Idea, or Memo) or create your own. Tags make it easy to find similar notes later.

Open a note, and alongside the original transcript you can generate:

  • AI Summary: the main points;
  • Brief: a few sentences to skim;
  • Email: rewritten as an email, ready to copy and send;
  • Translate All: the whole note in the language you choose.

Not happy with the result? Generate it again. You can also edit or copy the original text. For names, numbers, and decisions, it’s worth checking against the transcript or the recording.

Hit play to hear the original recording and check exactly what was said. Delete notes you no longer need. Recordings take up disk space, so clean up now and then.

Your notes are stored on your computer, and the AI Agent can search them. Just ask:

Find last week’s meeting discussion about the new pricing and list the requirements that came up.

It can search by keyword, date, and tag.

Turn on Local Speech Recognition in Settings → Privacy and transcription happens on your computer, so recordings aren’t uploaded. Summaries, translation, and other cleanup still need an internet connection to process the text.
