AI Agent
The AI Agent is the part of Owlfy that actually gets work done. Tell it what you want and give it what it needs. It plans the steps, uses the right tools, and sees the job through. Everyday questions, files on your computer, managing your computer, and complex jobs that need special skills are all fair game.
How to start a task
Section titled “How to start a task”- Type in the box on the AI Agent page;
- Hold the Voice Action key and say what you need;
- Drag files or images into the chat, or click Upload File;
- Send a message from your phone through Mobile Control.
The more specific you are, the better. Instead of “deal with this”, say three things: what material to use, what to do, and what format you want back.
What it can do
Section titled “What it can do”| What you want | Try saying |
|---|---|
| Read and compare | ”Compare these three proposals and list the pros and cons of each.” |
| Organize data | ”Total this spreadsheet by month and write it up as a report.” |
| Find and sort files | ”Find every contract in the Projects folder and list their expiry dates.” |
| Work on websites | ”Open this page and put the product prices into a table.” |
| Transcribe recordings | ”Transcribe this recording and list the action items.” |
| Create files | ”Make a slide deck from this outline.” |
| Find past notes | ”What pricing requirements did I record in the Voice Notebook last week?” |
It also knows which app you’re in and what text or files you’ve selected. Select something in another app, hold the Voice Action key, and say “summarize this”. It knows what “this” means.
Follow along and jump in
Section titled “Follow along and jump in”For bigger jobs you’ll see the plan and what each step is doing. While it works, you can:
- add instructions, like “add a comparison table too”;
- click Stop at any time;
- leave it running. A “Working in background” banner at the top lets you know it’s still busy while you do something else.
If a task needs a skill you haven’t learned yet, the agent suggests it, installs it once you confirm, and picks up where it left off.
Get your results
Section titled “Get your results”Every file the agent creates or changes goes into the Outputs panel at the top of the window, marked as new or modified. From there you can open a file, show it in Finder or File Explorer, favorite the ones you use often, or delete the ones you don’t need.
Outputs are saved to Owlfy/Artifacts in your Documents folder by default. You can change this in Settings → AI → Output location. Want a particular file name? Just say so: “Save it as a PDF called Project Summary.”
Manage conversations
Section titled “Manage conversations”All your conversations are kept in history. You can:
- reopen an old conversation and keep going;
- rename, pin, or color-tag important ones;
- show only conversations that came from Mobile Control;
- delete several at once or clear everything.
Choose a model
Section titled “Choose a model”Switch models from the picker next to the input box. Owlfy’s own models come in a few tiers:
| Tier | Best for |
|---|---|
| Standard | Fast and inexpensive; everyday tasks |
| Ultra | Stronger reasoning; complex tasks |
| SOTA | The most capable; the hardest tasks |
Some models require a Plus, Pro, or Max membership. You can also connect your own third-party or local models in Settings → AI. See Connect a Local Model.
Control which files it can touch
Section titled “Control which files it can touch”In Settings → AI → AI Agent sandbox mode, choose:
- All files (default): no folder restrictions;
- Specified folders only: the agent can only read and write the folders you add under Accessible folders. A good choice when working with sensitive material.
Confirm before spending Credits
Section titled “Confirm before spending Credits”When a skill would use more Credits than the limit you set (10 by default), Owlfy asks before going ahead. If you don’t confirm within 2 minutes, the task is cancelled. You can change the limit or turn this off in Settings → AI.
